Ingredients:
2 16 oz packages frozen cherries, pitted
16 oz Make & Muddle Spiced Cherry Vanilla Syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbs lemon zest
0.5 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium pan, add cherries, syrup, sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest. Bring to a boil and simmer , approximately 15-20 minutes or until liquid has reduced to a thick syrup. Remove from heat. Pour contents of pan into a 9 x 13 baking dish.
⅔ cup granulated sugar
.75 cup all purpose flour
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp baking powder
.25 tsp salt
.75 tsp pure vanilla extract
In a medium bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the vanilla extract, and melted butter and stir until fully combined. The mixture will resemble a cross between a shortbread topping and a sugar cookie dough. Press pieces of the topping together with your fingers to form flat irregular shaped pieces. Place the pieces of topping all over the top of the cherries. Bake for 30-45 minutes, until the cherries are bubbling around the edges and the topping is light golden brown. Serve with your favorite vanilla ice cream.
