Bourbon Heritage Month, Day 10 – Maple Leaf

Maple Leaf

This fall classic combines the brightness of citrus with the lovely mellowness of maple syrup.

Fall is a great time for reconnecting with friends that have been in the wind all summer. Vacations, sports, trips to the lake, and weekend warrior projects keep most of us busy all summer long. As we start to move into cooler months, bonfires, football games, and weekend suppers with friends are back on the calendar. This cocktail pairs perfectly with a card game and some laughs.

We are going to break tradition for this cocktail and choose a whiskey instead of a bourbon. Our whiskey of choice for this cocktail is High West Campfire whiskey. It is a blend of three different whiskies, a high rye (95%) whiskey from MGP, a bourbon from High West, and a single malt scotch. This whiskey hits all of the notes for us with a delicious smoke from the single malt, some spice from the rye and all the baking spice goodness from the bourbon. We think it’s a match made in heaven.
