BH Month, Day 23 – Buongiorno


Brunch cocktails are one of our favorite things here at Make & Muddle. Personally, we love brunch and starting the day off with a cocktail never hurts anyone’s feelings. We also especially like the challenge of creating a lighter, brighter cocktail that eases you in. Mimosas are great, but a little tired, and sometimes a Bloody Mary is just too much.

This particular cocktail has all the bitter and sweet that I love in cocktails and also includes cold brew coffee for the caffeine you so desperately need in the AM. You’re welcome. When you first see the ingredient list, you will be skeptical, but trust me, friends. This cocktail hits all the right buttons.

Our bourbon of choice for this cocktail is Peerless Small Batch. A fantastic bourbon all around, it dresses up this cocktail and takes it to the next level.


1.5 oz Peerless Bourbon
1.5 oz Aperol
3 oz Cold Brew Coffee
Dash of orange bitters
Dash of Peychaud’s bitters
Orange peel for garnish

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until very cold. Strain into an old fashioned glass with one large cube of ice. Garnish with orange peel.
